What is Web Hosting?
Web Hosting is the service of making ones web site visible for
everyone on the internet. Simply put, your web site needs to be
"hosted" somewhere to be seen by other viewers either via domain
name or IP address. When you get a
Web Hosting account, you are given access to a portion of hosting
company's web server. Once your account has been activated with your
web hosting provider you simply upload your files using something
like FTP or Microsoft FrontPage and your pages will be available for
the world to see.
The 'site' is made up of the actual images and text that make up a web site.
We offer custom web sites for churches here. Or
see below for resources on how to start a web site.
Web Site Templates:
Other than
getting a designer to help you, this is likely the easiest way to get
started. You can edit the template using FrontPage or other web site editing
software.
For beginners, or if you are wanting a
quality web site, a great option is to hire someone to either create a
web site for you or to edit a template. If you need help
editing a template, you can email us and we may have someone who you can
pay to do this work for you.
